
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is Rotary's leadership training program for young people.
RYLA emphasizes leadership, citizenship, and personal growth, and aims to
•Demonstrate Rotary's respect and concern for youth
•Provide an effective training experience for selected youth and potential leaders
•Encourage leadership of youth by youth
•Recognize publicly young people who are rendering service to their communities

The Rotary Club of Plu Ta Luang hosted a RYLA weekend for over 400 students from Rotary District 3340. The students participated in numerous activities including a beach cleanup at Baan Saray beach a turtle sanctuary, the Saha Mansion in Pattaya, Underwater World aquarium, a day long visit to the Naval base and U Tapao airport where the students were shown all the equipment and weapons used by the navy, in addition to seminars on leadership conducted by professional speakers.The students visited a Samsung factory that produces flat panel TV displays and washing machines near Sri Racha. We would like to thank the Thai Navy for all their assistance in providing accomodation, bus transpotation and gracious hospitality.
Participants, who are chosen for their potential as leaders, attend an all-expenses-paid seminar, camp, or workshop to discuss leadership skills and learn them through practice. Rotary clubs and districts select attendees and facilitate the events.
Each event has a theme such as Leadership at School and the event activities and presentations focus on fundamentals of leadership, ethics of positive leadership, importance of communication skills, problem solving and conflict management, building self-confidence and self-esteem, elements of community and global citizenship, and Rotary's purpose and service to the community.
