The Youth Exchange program provides young people between the ages of 15 and 19 with the opportunity to experience different cultures firsthand by living and studying in a foreign country for an academic year as well as acting as a cultural ambassador for their own country.
The Rotary Club of Plu Ta Luang participates in this program by hosting students from other countries, and by hosting and participating in Pre-trip Seminars to prepare Thai students for their trips abroad.
Pre-trip Seminars
Every year, before leaving for their host countries, students from District 3340 meet for 2 day seminar to prepare them for traveling and living in their host countries for about 10 months. The Rotary Club of Plu Ta Luang has hosted this Pre-trip Seminar in 2009, and will host it again in 2010.
In July 2009,students from District 3340, which covers most of Eastern Thailand and Issan, visited Nong Nooch Gardens for a 2 day seminar to prepare them for their upcomming trips. The students were accompanied by their parents who also participated in many of the activities. The host countries include, USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, and Germany
During the 2 day seminar the students participated in numerous actitives to help get an introduction into the culture of their host country, and how to be an ambassador for Thailand, and Rotary.
